wPCIe: Enabling True Wireless Mobility
The traditional computing architecture consolidates a computing platform's external interfaces in the South Bridge and connects to the CPU over PCI Express®. Unlike other wireless technologies that attempt to replace cables and external ports one at a time, wPCIe elegantly exploits this consolidation to eliminate all cables and ports, relocating the interfaces from a mobile device to a remote docking station, the DockingZone™.
The DockingZone houses various application-specific interfaces, allowing the mobile computing platform to become a local device with its peripherals and interfaces implemented and distributed remotely. The result is a high-performance mobile computing system that is lighter, more power efficient and less expensive than a platform with all of the processing power and interfaces within its chassis.

Tri-Band Networking: The Future of Wi-Fi
Future Wi-Fi devices will use three unlicensed frequency bands, adding the 60 GHz band to the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands that already exist in Wi-Fi n devices. This evolution to the 60 GHz band compliments existing "whole-home" wireless networks with multi-gigabit networking capabilities.
Wilocity’s technology, coupled with a traditional Wi-Fi device, delivers tri-band networking capabilities that offer multi-gigabit wireless connectivity while ensuring backward compatibility with existing Wi-Fi networks. These tri-band devices will handover sessions from the 60 GHz band to the 2.4 or 5 GHz band, creating a seamless user experience.
